OS Required. Hardware Requirements. It calls out that this is a Razer mouse, and it was designed to win. Synapse 2. It's packed with basic and advanced customizable features so your Razer Ouroboros works exactly the way you want it to. Low-sensitivity gamers who lift other mice may experience on-screen cursor jitter as mouse-to-surface tracking continues. This is a detriment to gamers who need absolute accuracy in their games, as the cursor being thrown off a target may mean the difference between winning and losing.

In the Razer Ouroboros, once the sensor has been calibrated to the surface, you can customize the height at which tracking is cut-off when the mouse is lifted. This ensures on-screen cursor jitter is reduced; so your aim stays dead-on target even as you move. By calibrating your Razer Ouroboros to a specific surface, it enables the sensor to record that surface's color, topography, and other such properties. As variations on the surface are continuously detected as the mouse moves, it is compared to the original recording, allowing the sensor to react quicker and more accurately.

Every game is different and comes with its own set of control requirements. No longer limited by last generation onboard device memory, Razer Synapse 2. Pair two Razer peripherals for the ultimate gaming combo. You can temporarily change the sensitivity on your Razer mouse by holding down a button on your Razer keyboard, or quickly change keyboard profiles using the mouse scroll wheel, with customizable lighting reflecting these changes. Even create macros on your mouse and have it available on your keyboard, there is no limit to what you can do with the hive mind that is Razer Synapse 2.

Pros: This is an awesome mouse. I've used it alot since I've got it and it hasn't disappointed. It is lightweight, feels great in the hand, and is accurate as all get out. The green light is pretty cool too. It has buttons galore and the software is easily configurable to suit your needs. The price was right as I don't mind refurbished units.

As a general rule refurbs are better because the manufacturer has went through the unit and made sure everything works and is up to spec. Whereas not every new unit gets tested and could be bad out of the box.

All in all I am happy with it. I only have a couple of cons. See below.. Cons: I have a couple. Not so bad as to deter me from ever buying another one but worth noting nonetheless. I use Linux along side my windows install to write code etc. And use Windows to play games. It works great in Windows as you have the ability to use the software to adjust the sensitivity and threshold.

However, in Linux, not so much. I spent about 2 hours trying to hack my configuration file to get the sensitivity down to an acceptable level and it's still to touchy. I have the lowest settings I can use and it's still too twitchy. The battery runs down quick. I have mine set to sleep within 5 minutes of no movement and it still dies after a days use. Other wireless mice I've owned and still own will run off a full charge for days if not weeks off a single charge. This one is dead after about 18 hours of use.

So bad in fact I've had to swap a regular duracell AA to get me through until I charge again. But you can hook the cable up and charge while you use it if you so desire. Pros: nice mouse very adjustable, not heavy despite what some reviews say. Cons: would be nice if the swapable sides offered some that had "wings" that went farther back on the mouse to rest unused fingers fully on, other then that its a great mouse.

Overall Review: If Synapse crashes on load, make sure you arent running RadeonPro or if you are add it to the exclusion settings in radeon pro's settings hit the settings button and add it as an exculsion its a known issue with radeonpro but sadly the fellow who created radeonpro has abandoned the program fully after getting a job working for raptr. Cons: Only came with the sides that have the rests, while thats what I wanted to use others may not like them and it is a missing part.

Pros: I already use both hands when it comes to mice to prevent strain - for gaming I exclusively use the right hand and this mouse makes it a breeze. The problem is that when you're done using the computer and turn it off - there's no charging taking place. Pros: The mouse feels absolutely amazing in your hand. It is completely ambidextrous so lefties like my wife can enjoy it.

The responsiveness while wireless is also something to behold. The buttons are positioned just so that you can easily reach them no matter the situation, and the clutch switch on the side is a very neat feature. Cons: The reason for such a low review is not exactly the mouses fault, which I know means that I probably shouldn't rate it how I have.

However, I feel the need to warn anyone thinking of purchasing this mouse that the potential issues can really bite you. The mouse itself doesn't have any real problems, however the driver for this specific mouse make it almost unusable most of the time. It cuts out randomly when using it in wired mode and actually performs better wirelessly. A huge issue is that if you let the mouse go to sleep while plugged in via wire there is a good chance that when you wake it up it will behave very abnormal to the point that one axis of the movement is completely messed up.

Meaning that it is very hard to move the cursor at all. There are a plethora of other issues that arise from the driver for this mouse but I won't list them all here.

Just google razer ouroboros connection problem and there will be several links to various blogs explaining in great detail the problems that can arise with this mouse.
